Air Canada Flight 34

This post is being composed whilst in flight between Sydney and Honolulu, however it will not be transmitted until we have access to a public telephone - possibly during our transit stop at Honolulu airport. We have now been in the air for 3 hours, enjoyed the most delicious lunch with a glass of wine and watched the first of three inflight movies - "Rumour Has It".
Our trip actually commenced yesterday (Sun) when Jim drove Gail & I to Gosford railway station. We travelled by train to Central, where we were met by Rodney & Angie.
The four of us had lunch at Oscars in Darling Harbour. Rodney then dropped Gail & I at the Airport Stamford Plaza Hotel for our overnight accomodation. We can recommend this course of action for flights departing prior to 10am, as it allows a relaxed night prior to catching the 7am shuttle bus to the International airport.
At the airport we were unexpectantly met by an APT (our Alaska tour company) representative who assisted us with a very speedy & hassle free passage through the check in procedures. This courtesy was provided even though we had booked our flight independantly - and a day earlier than required. The only security check we had was a cursory glance in Kevin's suitcase at a random check prior to check in. We were very impressed by APT's presence & assistance. The second movie has just commenced - Harry Potter's latest.
Kevin & Gail
